Water Informationsystem Styria (WIS)

The Water Department of the Styrian Regional Government was successful in setting up this water information system for Styria (WIS). All relevant data for Styrian Water are managed and supervised by this tool.

The documentation and archiving of all relevant water management data, measurements, analysis and evaluation were collected hitherto in the water book, or in the water acts, in water quality reports and maps, the Hydrographic Yearbook, on hazard zones and flood maps, etc.

The Water Information Styria now leads the digital data together in relation to a geographic information system via this database.

The concerned departments, authorities and agencies and especially the citizens who are interested in are offered a modern access to an environmental information concerning "water".
