Final Meeting at April 14th, 2014 in Bad Radkersburg (Austria)

On 14th April 2014 the final meeting was held in Bad Radkersburg at the end of the cross-border EU project "Kutscheniza". At this final meeting the results were presented to the public. Aim of this project was the development of a catalogue of measures to solve the quality problems at the cross-border river and measures to improve the ecological situation of the river and the waters near space. .

2. Joint Workshop in Bad Radkersburg

On 7 November 2013, the 2. joint workshop in Bad Radkersburg took place under the expert of the project partner’s active participation. In addition to intensive substantive work and a brief resume over the past months of work could be drawn. After a somewhat delayed by various administrative requirements start the project quickly was an efficient form of cooperation between the two project partners are found. In joint workshops, where previously national workshops were connected with experts in each case, the data situation and the problems in the catchment area of Kutschenitza appropriate documentation was in this first phase prepared and intensively discussed, agreed and created first joint representations. So also led the public presentation and discussion of "Kutscheniza" on 02.07.2013 in Radenci, Slovenia with broad participation of both experts as well as so-called "stakeholders" to an intense apart Put the topic.

In the following months, the work of the two project partners led to common representations of the problem areas, which the foundations were laid to take the first proposals for various measures in a matrix together. This in turn provides the basis for the work in the coming months, on this basis to develop concrete measures and this also should be specified in each case.

EU project KUTSCHENIZA developing well

The first results from the KUTSCHENIZA EU project - proposed measures to solve the quality problems on the border river Kutschenitza and measures to improve the environmental situation of the water and the waters near the space - are worked out . As part of a kick-off event in Radenci , Slovenia , the project partners went public .

Kick-Off Meeting in Radenici, Slovenia

On July 2, 2013 started with the kick-off meeting in Radenici, Slovenia, officially the border "EU project Kutschenitza". Due to the climatic changes and changes in the discharge conditions, there is the Austrian-Slovenian border river Kutschenitza and in its catchment area problems. The amended water supply, partly caused by droughts and the other by more frequent heavy rain, resulting in poor water quality.

Improve water quality therefore applies to a decision of the Austrian - Slovenian waters Commission common measures to improve the water quality of the border river to find. By Kutschenitza EU project to share a list of measures for solving these problems are created on both sides of the border river of Austria and Slovenia. This should serve as a basis for subsequent gradual implementation.

Exploiting synergies Since the Kutschenitza is a border waters can be accomplished machining the problems only in common, besides this also requires an acceptance by the Austrian - Slovenian Waters Commission. The water needed to solve the problems coordinated input from both sides of the border; Also there is the catchment area in the same climatic region. And of course, the project represents a further improvement of cross-border cooperation.

Project participants Involved in this project are professionally responsible water management, experts, policy makers, public administration, agriculture and the population in the region. As Lead Partner acts, the Office of the Styrian Provincial Government, with the Department 14 - Water Management, Resources and Sustainability with the project partners Slovenia, with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in Ljubljana
